Last night a buddy of mine from work borrowed one of my L1 systems for a 40th birthday party. Knowing I played in a band he asked me for advice on what he would need to rent just to play computer music for the party, so I offered up the Bose system to help the cause.
I went to the room(which is a good size) to set it up for him in the afternoon, gave him a quick lesson and then wished him luck as I was playing in a hockey tournament this weekend.
He said they should be done around midnight so I said I would come after my game to pick up my gear. I got there a little after midnight and the party was still going strong and the music was just a pumpin’. I was impressed all over again how well the L1 can fill a big room with canned music. I set him up with 2 B1’s and after hearing that it amazes me that people think they need more bass. But alas different strokes.
Since it was people from work, when I showed up I knew a bunch of them and all everyone was talking about was the Bose L1 system and how amazed they were that all the sound was coming out of “that pole”. I’m not surprised, I was impressed too, it’s not often I get to mingle out in the crowd and hear what it can do. I know it can be loud enough when as a singer/guitar player, I’m standing next to it but you still wonder how it sounds out front.
Anyway, I was pretty proud to be an L1 moment and suck in all the praise for how amazing my system sounds, and I relished in educating people about the benefits of the L1 system.
Hi Litesnsirens,
Thanks for telling us about this. I still like walking into a venue where there’s an L1® playing. It’s fun isn’t it.
It’s absolutely amazing, it’s like no one has heard great sound like that before. I think it’s especially a real treat for the people who have never heard it before. And really they could have hired a DJ and spent a bunch of bucks (for sure more than my band charges). This way, they just spent a little time and put together their own set lists on an iPod or computer, borrow my system and have a great night for free.
Wonderful Time playing for The Compassionate Friends workshop and regional gathering here in Frankfort last weekend ! And - you gessed it… another " SO glad I broght my L1 " moment as the house system squeeled at every start up - and half the folks speaking in the main room sounded like they were inside a 55-gal drum. T.C.F. has asked about getting their own system and avoiding Hotel stuff… I think that would be wise <G>
