Hi folks, first a bit of OT from what I’m writing about. I posted a week or so back about my model II going south on me and so I sent it in for factory repair. I shipped it last Friday and I just got an email that it was shipped today…thats pretty darn good in my book!
I have a broken top cap on my top speaker, one corner was somehow broken and a chunk is missing that is about 10-12 % of the total cap. I have had a piece of black tape over forever but then decided to call Bose about getting a replacement and was told that it wasn’t sold as a user serviceable part and I was have to send the speaker in for repair.
Whats up with that?, it’s a simple cap held on with four screws and there is no way I would ever ship it to Bose for such a simple job. So my question is: can I, or can I not buy that part? If not I suppose I’ll run with the piece of tape over the hole.
Thanks --Leo
