Hello friends:
How would you connect 2 Bose L1 M2 speakers to one tone match. Thanks
Hi SlamJam,
We have notes about this. Please follow the link.
T1® ToneMatch Audio Engine to two Model II Power Stands
Does that help?
Thank you ST. So we can connect more than 2 L1 M2’s to 1 tone match in series through Analog Inputs?
Hi SlamJam,
You can connect up to three (max) Model II Power Stands from a single T1®.
Connections possible
- ToneMatch Port
- Analog Master Output (¼ inch jack Tip-Ring-Sleeve) Basically a clone of the ToneMatch Port
- Analog Aux Output (¼ inch jack Tip-Ring-Sleeve). This is a separate mix you can create with the Aux buss (see notes below).
There isn’t a way to connect Model II Power Stands in a series. There is no full-range line out on the Model II Power Stand.
Here are some notes about T1 ToneMatch® Audio Engine Aux Output

Please tell us about what you are trying to do?
So I have basically the same situation. I currently use on L1 MII with a B2. I use XLR L/R outputs from a Pioneer DDJ-SX to the 4/5 channels in the T1 and set it to Dj preset.
My questions is as follow:
What is the advantage of the set up described in the instructions (where the inputs go to the T1 example on Ch3 and routed the Aux output) which basically by-passes the T1 effects Vs just running a Pioneer XLR L output to analog input of L1 #1 and Pioneer XLR R output to analog input of L1 #2. With the set up described I will need 2 cables to run L/R inputs to the T1 and a 3rd cable from the T1 to L1 #2. With the set up I descdribe only 1 cable to L1 #1 and one cable to L#2. Other than minimize cables are there other advantages that I don’t know about?
I am about to expand my system from 1 set L1 M2 with B2 and T1 and add a secon L1 M2 and B2. What is the advantage in connecting the system as described in the stereo section of the article vs using Left out XLR from Pioneer DDJ-SX to analog input of L1 #1 and the right out XLR from Pioneer DDJ-SX to analog input of L1 #2. my understanding is that the set-up described in the wiki basically bypasses the T1 and I would require 3 cables as opposed to the 2 cables I already have.

The Aux setting (Pre: with EQ & FX) includes the T1® Effects. The only thing that does not get included is Reverb.
The advantage is that you can have everything (Presets and EQ) on both channels (except reverb on the second channel).
Does that help?
Thank you so much that really helps. So the benefits as you mentioned will allow me to use the DJ preset which is my understanding that it provides better low frequency response vs just using individual analog inputs at the cost of one additional cable between the T1 AUX output and the #2 L1 analog input. Please correct me statement if I didn't stated that correctly.
Hi FigDJ,
Yes, you’ve got it.
For others reading along - here’s a little more information about the DJ Presets.
There are two T1® Presets specifically for Prerecorded Music or more generally, backing tracks.
Category: DJ/Playback
Preset: Low Volume Music
This is optimized for low volume music. The low bass is boosted to better match the physics/psychoacoustics of our own auditory system.
Category: DJ/Playback
Preset: High Volume Music
This is optimized for higher volume music. Some of the bass is boosted and some of the upper mids are reduced to have a more natural sound at these higher volumes.
ST: Thanks for all your help. I got my new tone match just few days ago and still having difficulty setting my dj laptop to work with tone match, there isn’t really any detail instructions on how to set up dj computer with tone match. I tried to load the tonematch cd but it gives me an error each time. Is there a link that you can possibly share that can help kick start this process quickly.
Hi SlamJam,
I wouldn’t be concerned about the CD. If remember correctly, all that was on there was the T1 ToneMatch® Audio Engine Owner’s Guide . Follow the link and you’ve got it in electronic form.
I’m not sure what a DJ computer is, but if it’s a PC or a Mac, you should be able to connect it via USB. The T1® has a built-in USB sound card that should be recognized automatically.
Here are the notes (click the symbol).
Does that help?
Yes I Dj from my PC. My computer is not recognizing tone match, might have the wrong usb cable. Thanks
Hi SlamJam,
If you are running through a USB hub, try connecting directly to the PC. If you have more than one USB port - try a different port.
Yes I have connected tone match directly to my laptop… not through a usb hub. Also the usb cable is correct… just purchased it…still my computer is unable to recognize tone match. Will keep troubleshooting. Thanks
Hi SlamJam,
Just curious - what hardware / operating system are you running?
