Hello all,
Just wanted to say Hi. I am a DJ from Minnesota and have been in business for 10 years.
I have always been interested in the Bose products since the DJ I started working for was using the 802 type speakers. When the Sticks came out, I really wanted them but couldn’t justify the cost. Have still always said if I could afford them, I would switch to them.
Well, as of last week, I had back surgery and lifting the heavy gear has to stop so I will be purchasing to start L1 M1 double hopefully in February sometime to use for my first show of the year March 5th.
I have researched and found the Model 1 is the best for me now money wise. Wish it was the Model II but gotta start somewhere.
I have scoured the boards, talked to my friend Cap and other Bose DJs and made my decision.
We are getting our taxes done Feb 7th and when we get our refund, my order will go in. (Having 3 young kids helps with refund thank goodness)
Here is to hoping Bose allows me to continue to DJ with this bad back. I would hate to have to quit doing what I love because of it.
I will try to contribute to the boards as much as possible.
Thanks.

Welcome aboard. You’ll get lots of BOSE help here. Just ask. I’m missing MBLV this year because of a herniated disc in my lower back BUT I still did my gigs this weekend thanks to my lightweight (lighter than my 100 pound Peaveys) BOSE L-1’s.
I am running 2 Eon 15 powered. Just too heavy. I am hoping to use the L1 double at my next wedding March 5th.
Also looking at a compact for ceremonies.
I look forward to participating on the boards.
karl,
you will get lots and lots of great information here!!
Great idea about the Compact for ceremonies! BTW welcome.
Getting Excited. Monday I am going to be going to the Twin Cities and on the way is a Bose store. I am gonna go try out the L1 compact and hopefully they have the Model 1 also. I have heard the M1’s before but not the compacts.
I had sold some big Mackie 1500 subs a few years ago to a local DJ. Never used them and they were so heavy. Now this same guy just posted he is looking for some powered 15s. I talked to him and we are thinking of selling the Eons to him. A little extra cash to to towards the Bose.
I just need to check to see if my back ups are still in good condition. Never needed to use them so they have been sitting for awhile. If all is good, I will sell the Eons.
I will have the L1 M1 2B1 as my main and a compact as back up.
Do you plan on using one L1 and two B1’s, and then the Compact for your back-up in case the L1 goes down? I too had been thinking of going that route.
Your gonna love it! I do predict thought you will eventually want a second L1 Mod. 1 & two more B1’s. But I think a single L1/two B1’s & a Compact is a good starting point.
Let us know how it goes.
Called the Bose store and they DO NOT have any L1’s except the compact. Oh well. I have heard them before and trust all of you and my Cap. I mean, I ate White Castle burgers with the Man. If you can’t trust that, what can you trust. Lol
That is exactly what I am doing Michael. I will eventually get a second L1 M1 double but with my research, the 1 L1 double will be better than my 2 Eons.
I am hoping to have them by March 5th for my first wedding of the season. As long as Uncle Sam can get my refund to me quickly, I will order them from Cap and I hear they get delivered within a day or two.
Thanks for the input Karl. I have one L1 2B1 that replaced my EV sx200’, and let me tell ya, the L1 is un-believeable. I think you will love it.
