Great success at concert series

Hi all - wanted to update you all on the wonderful shows we’ve been having here in Maine using two L1’s with digital mixing board. I can’t seem to post a photo because of it’s size but i’ll see if my online buddy will do it for me!

This picture was taken on October 1st 2009 at the Old Union Meeting House in Readfield Maine. This building is on the national historic register, was built in 1827, and sports an original Trompe L’oeil 3-D paint job done in 1867 - still all original and in tact. The ceilings here are quite high (25 feet or so) and the vibe in this building is incredible.

I love using the L1’s because they are so unobtrusive yet make this room sound fantastic. I still notice people’s expressions whan they finally figure out where the sound is coming from!

This night featured a traditional Scottish trio from Edinburgh called The North Sea Gas. The “Lads” treated us to a spectacular night of music as they wound their way down from Canada on their North American tour. We did use two monitors for them but I noticed that the sound on stage was very close to the sound in the room as the monitor levels didn’t have to be very high to achieve the comfort level the band was looking for. That room carries very well with no PA at all so we didn’t need much. Having said that the L1’s do thier thing very well and the sound was so articulate that you could hear every nuance of each instrument and voice in a way that would not have been possible otherwise - especially at these lower volume levels.

Next show is on November 1st in a small venue in Augusta. Duke Robillard Trio will be performoing with the same setup. I’ll post pix from that one when I get them!
