Hi, I tried the B1 with the power amplifier and it does sound good…no need of a seperate LFE signal. As for the Bose EQ, it seems to be fine, as I can feel a difference when I move the sliders to the left and right…Anyway, I still need to play aoround it, to get the best sound from it, I shall let you know if I succeed…Thanks for all the help.
Hi Avalon,
Glad that is working out for you.
Out of curiosity, what are you using for the power amp inputs?
Hi, Thanks it is sounding better, but I guess I still need another amp for the B1 as this is taking too much power from tha Crown amplifier.
The connections go like this…DVD/CD Player → Yamaha Equaliser → Bose 901 Equaliser → Crown Amplifier → Bose 901 speakers, RCF Speakers, B1
I am using a Yamaha Equaliser, because it helps me with the equalistion that I do not get from the 901 equaliser, without the Yamaha, sad to say the 901’s sound like Mid’s, now they sound really good, with this combination. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks,
Hi ST, sorry I forgot to mention that after the signal comes from the Bose Equaliser it goes through a Kenwood Surround sound Pre amplifier, an then to the Crown.
Thanks.

Is there a subwoofer line out of the Kenwood?
I so, then you could run that subwoofer line out to a power amp to power the B1.
Also - have you checked that all of your speakers (901s and RCFs) are in phase? See Le5’s post above. You want to do that check with the RCFs too.
Hi St, all the speakers are in phase, none are out. Also for the Kenood, there is no other output, just 2 rca(right and left) outs, which go straight to the power amplifier.

Hello,
I’ve the L1 Compact does the B1 works with the L1 compact if not, a Schiit Magni 3 is capable of power-up the unit?
Regards,
Hello NZendzo209,
The L1 Compact is designed as a complete unit, and does not provide a connection for the B1 Bass Module. The B1 is designed to be used as part of an L1 Model II, Model 1S, Model 1 or Classic system.
As you've no doubt already read through this entire thread, using the B1 with any other system requires some additional equipment. It is a 8 Ohm passive speaker system rated for 125 watts with a Speakon connector, but has no internal crossover or protection circuit. To use it with an L1 Compact, you'd need an external crossover and a power amp. I looked at the Schitt Magni 3 (a headphone amplifier) and I think it's totally inadequate for what you're asking. Even with the correct combination of cables, I doubt you'd even hear it.
There have been other discussions in this forum regarding use of the Rolls SX21 crossover in combination with the L1 Compact and third-party powered speakers/subwoofers. Satisfaction with the results has varied. Search here on the forum with the terms Compact and Rolls.
Does that help?
