I am in the research of changing my karaoke program, what do you prefer, i have almost 350 gig of karaoke Chartbuster, DKK, Sunfly Legends, CDMaestro and many more, and some VCD, i dont want to retype everything i need something that has a fast search and good database program, i’m currently using www.unifykaraoke.com
Virtual DJ 6.05. Their xml search file approach is waaaaayyyy fast!
Holy Smoke, you have a TON of karaoke files. I thought my 165gb was substaintial. Yours puts that to shame.
Aren’t you so glad the cost of file storage media has dropped?
Try OTS/AV for your Karoke and DJ needs. I have used it for several years and it has been bullet proof. Easy search, etc. Great DJ program. Randy
Here is low tech but it works for me.
WinAmp with Karaoke decoder (free) and Pacemaker ($10) for Tempo/Speed/Pitch.
I’ve used it some LARGE outdoor concert rigged arena shows and have had great success and great comments on sound.
Ditto on Winamp…I have it installed on my laptop with some background tracks and have loaded some CDG’s and it is rock solid. No one has thrown tomatoes at us for the sound. Maybe a true DJ or KJ would want something different but hey , "if it’s for free’ it’s for me’!!!
Seriously, it works , download it and give’er a try!
Just my two cents.
AJ
Classic Entertainment.
Itunes works for me.
I still haven’t figured out how you do that on itunes…
but anyway, I use PCDK KJ, works well for me. Not sure how many gig of karaoke tracks I have but it’s on 2 1 TB hard drives with plenty of space left. One is a mirror backup of the other just in case. I have about 25,000 titles.
Dynamite, remember when we were talking I told you about the Power CD G to Ipod Converter? You can buy the software on line for about $30.00. Once you have installed it it will convert CD G files off your hard drive to MPG4 video files. You can also convert them CD G Discs. In years past you needed a “special” type of CD drive on your computer, but now I think most any CD drive will work. The software also allows you to decide how high of quality you want the audio ripped (128-320k).
oh, ok. I’ll check it out.
For Macs, you can use the software program, K-Jams. It runs well and integrates well with iTunes.

I don't do a lot of karaoke but I use Ots and like it for everything it can do.
You could send me a drive with your 350 gigs of karaoke and after I transfer them to Ots files, I'll let you know how it works!

I have found that PCDJ KJ works well for me as I can toggle between programs to play DJ music if it’s a slow karaoke night
I do beleive you can download it free for the older version which is what i use
I had the new version and it wouldent let me keep running both programs at the same time for easy access to either program quickly
old school i guess… it runs on XP
Randy,
You have to check out www.tricerasoft.com
Absolutely the greatest…Swift Elite. Call Gai and speak with him personally. You not only get a great program but the best in support. Gai Marcos the president just had a FREE all day seminar in Las Vegas the day before the MobileBeat Convention started. He is the originator of the MP3 G
Good luck…you won’t be disappointed.
Sax N Dotty has been the best for us, super fast search, program uses hardly any resources and a very low cost solution.
