Problems, problems…
I have bought a 2nd MacBook Pro (a 13" i5) running Megaseg and there is a noted problem (see Media4u’s post) if you connect to the T1 using USB, then happen to pause the track your playing for more than a couple of minutes the lappy and Bose loose contact with each other resulting in a shut down and restart of the software.
So… can i connect the lappy via 1/8 headphone socket to the T1? and how is this best achieved?
Thanks
Steve.
Hi Steve,
We have notes about this here: Backing Tracks to a T1®

Does that answer your question?
Hi ST,
Thanks once again.
This has raised another issue in the mean time… is there a way to do this and still connect some headphones for monitoring?
Thanks
Steve
Hi Steve,
You’re running a Model II right?
If so then you can connect the headphones to the T1® ¼ inch jack Master Output.
–?8T? Please click the picture for more details ?T8?–
You will NOT be able to control the volume separately though. It will go up and down with the T1® Master Output.
You can also connect the headphones to the T1® Aux output
–?8T? Please click the picture for more details ?T8?–
Note: you’ll have to route your inputs there. See T1 ToneMatch® Audio Engine Aux Output for more details.
Did that help?
Sort off…
I need to be able to monitor 1 channel whilst the other is playing so won’t i need some sort of extra soundcard to enable this?
Thanks
Steve.

How are you doing that now?
Hi ST,
Previously (and with my other lap top) i hook up to the T1 via the USB connection and then use the 1/8 headphone socket on the laptop for headphones to monitor the other channel.
Works fine, but problems with Apple/Bose/Megaseg re the 15 chip set has meant i’m looking for other ways to work.
Thanks
Steve.
Hi Steve,
It looks like you may need one of the devices shown on the MegaSec Audio Output devices page.
If you have one of these, then it looks like you could put your headphones back in the laptop headphone jack and run the output from the MegaSec usb output device to T1® Channel 4/5.
Do you happen to have one of these devices - perhaps from your pre-Bose days?
edit: spelling
Hi ST,
I don’t have anything like that and am a bit worried about purchasing something like that as i don’t know whether it would have the same issue i currently have with Maegaseg/Bose/Apple.
Although it appears Media4u2 had success with the Griffin device.
Thanks
Steve,
How about if you used the headphone jack to connect to the T1, and got a USB to headphone adapter for your headphone/pre-cuing needs. May be I’m simplifying, but I’m planning to try a similar setup for stereo…
