Sound cards

Shopping for a new sound card, looking for recommendations. I am using Traktor and the Stanton SCS 3 system for my midi dj mixer/ controller and a macbook.

Hi dj lori g.

Did you know that a T1® can connect to you macbook and function as an external USB soundcard? That is in addition to all the other things that it can do including provide EQ and effects for your Karaoke singers.

I have used several different sound cards. I believe the T1 is the BEST sound card I’ve every used.

As ST said, that’s in addition to doing everything else for me.

It’s become so essential, I now have a back up T1 at every event, although thankfully, I’ve never needed it.

I was wondering, has anyone used any of the new Tablet Computers, IE; Android based, that has a “USB” output, directly into the T1 ToneMatch USB input?

I am guessing that there would have to be a Bose type driver that works with the Android OS, as in Windows or Apple based computers.

Another option, since I really don’t care for the 1/8’ output jack (they seem to get noisey with the slightest movement), would be a “USB” Bluetooth adapter for the T1.
Has anyone found one and tried it, since that would support most hand held devices?

I own a T1 but have yet to use it with my Compacts. I bought it for use with my L1 M1/M2 when I can afford it.

Currently, I use the Numark DJIO with great success. Greta sound, Master audio out, Zone/Booth out, head phone monitor and mic input all in a small package. Read more here: <http://www.numark.com/djio>

Many DJ’s colleagues use the Gigaport sound card with great success. I believe it has more input/output options.

Joel, I have used that USB hook up with my iPad. I had an event recently where I needed to play music videos. Yes, it sounded good but I when I DJ, I need to use a splitter so I can cue songs if needed on the Djay app. So for now I’m using the 1/8 inch hook up.

I have an older one of these made by Creative Sound Labs. It is an awesome alternative to a bad sound card. I really love the volume knob on top. Now they are making it with a remote control which could come in extremely handy!

So Lori G, what L1 models will you be using with your new sound card.
One or 2 units, mono or stereo?
The T1 is great but not user friendly in stereo.
I have used an M-Audio Fast Track Pro, a T1 and two versions of Echo Indigo’s sound cards. All of them worked just fine.

Hi Lou, L1M1 one unit with mono.

I was rocking the Numark DJiO until I got the NS6. I never had one issue with the DJiO.
