been a while since I’ve checked in but I still read a lot…I have the T1 from 2009…if I use a Sennheiser E945 mic is there a new download of presets that would include the 945 or is there another preset that would be a good match? thanks
Hello Krugir… I am new to this site and kind of awkward using it …so I am sending a question and answer to the first mail I saw …YOU !I just bought the T1 last week and havent found better for the same mike…but mind you I am still learning it, I couldnt find an E945 in the preset so took the Sennheiser preset that was there…on another note , was the microphone bracket included in your Bose T1 kit…in the manuel they say , refer to the Quick set-up Guide that came with the kit… is this piece something you must buy ? Thank you and thank you for your help.
Gigi
Gigi…welcome…yeah, interesting we both just got the e945…mine is coming thursday, I’ll work with it this weekend…I connect the T1 to my mic stand…works great…I play with MP3 tracks from a laptop so I can adjust everything as I go with the mixer so close…this site is amazing…the Bose community really helps each other…you have one of the best “systems” in the world and folks here will help you get the most out of it…I’ll report on my e945 at some point, probably in the DJ or Vocal section, lots of singers there!
Hi Tony , thank you so much for replying …yes I was talkinh about the bracket to clip on the microphone pole…so I guess it’ s not in the box…Thank you again and yes what a great site …it’s helped me a lot already.
Merci !
G.
Hi Gigi,
de rien!
The Bracket is not expensive. Mounting it on the Microphone stand is also pretty easy. Just follow the instructions regarding the size adjustment insert for the diameter of the stand and you’ll be OK. Just about everything else you need to know you can probably find in the link I gave you. There are many threads regarding the T1 (and just about everything else to do with the L1 systems. I have spent many a happy hour just browsing through the Wiki. We have ST to thank for that. He’s more or less our L1 Guru who can help with almost anything you care to throw at him (just don’t throw any hard or sharp objects because we all make use of his expertise … Lol).
Yes the forum is a great place. I come here very often. Anytime you need help, just start a thread in the appropriate forum. It generally never takes long before someone answers. Most problems, however are already explained in the Wiki.
Just one thing. In the Ask Bose for Help Forum, the Community Members (that’s us) are not allowed to post answers, so unless you have a Bose L1/T1 technical problem I would post in the other Forums where we can join in. The Bose people look there, too, so basically you have the best of both worlds.
Glad I could be of help, and I hope to see your name here once in a while.
Take care,
Tony
For just a good starting place try the Shure SM58 setting. Since most mics in the world started off trying to copy a shure it is a good start. Also remember that the presets are just “suggested” EQ settings. Read the small manual that comes with with mic. It might be hard to understand but at some point will tell you the frequency’s your mic “sings” at. And last of all turn the effects off while finding the best sound.
Thanks, Roy…in fact, I’ve been using an SM58 for 40 yrs so when the sennheiser comes I’ll just plug er in and start there…then try the presets ST has mentioned…I’ve had the L1 since 2009, used mostly at home in my “music room”, but haven’t used it yet in a large room with volume really cranked up…I’m going for vocal clarity number one and more volume on that vocal track before feedback number two…the 945 comes today and I’ll give it a quick test tonight or tomorrow and a good music workout this Sunday…
ST…you nailed it! I tried every preset, with flat EQ, and the winner is the Shure Beta 87A setting… …close second was the Shure Beta 58A, and a distant third was the Shure SM58…I need very little EQ after that singing with tracks…maybe a 1.0 bump on the lows and that’s it…maybe a 1.0 bump on the hi if it doesn’t affect feedback…the e945 will take a little getting used to (super cardiod) vs the SM58 I’ve used for 40 yrs…the sound of the 945 is best when you’re right on the mic (I sing that way anyway) and then the clarity shines through the music and acoustic guitar and clearly out performs the SM58…now I’ll just have to wonder about the OM5, the EV e967 and the super hyped Heil PR35??? by time I buy and try all of those, I could’ve just got the KMS 105 and moved on…ha ha…last question for you if you get around to it, do you use any delay on the T1 or just the reverb? if so, what setting works for you? have a great day!
