Using laptop for lyrics and chords

Hi. I am a single guitar, vocal, harmonica, and porchboard bass performer and would like to covert my large notebook of songs that have lyrics and chords to a laptop. Does anyone know of a program that I can list all my song sheets with a table of contents and maybe a search feature? Thanks for your help, Randy

Hi Randy,

see this discussion: Not Bose but Interesting

You might find some ideas in there.

Hi. I am using a programme called Music Reader. It uses scanner and .pdf files. Has a built in database and you can make playlists. You can try a demo to see if it works for you. works with MAC and PC. I have a USB footpedal to turn pages if necessary. Only negative is that I have to use landscape mode on my MacBook Pro so sometimes have to manipulate the documents a bit. You can even write in chords on the pdf. Any pdf file can be converted to a music reader file. Cheers, Brian MusicReaderSoftware

Hi Brian,
I have also been working with MusicReader and Marco Leone the author. It is a very good program and Marco is very dedicated, producing a good high quality product. I just noticed it is updated to 3.1, I am not sure what the latest updates are, but I have been very happy, with the product and improvements.

Problem with “remove all annotations” solved

Information Dialog in MusicConvert – TAB now functions correctly
Display problems in MusicConvert solved
Tabs in library can now be hidden
Low Vision Option added:

Thanks guys so much! Happy Thanksgiving. Randy

I have been using Winamp to play my files in my laptop for a couple of years. I use a plugin for it called FZLyrics. It is designed to be used like a karaoke program. I write my charts in Word and then copy and paste into the lyric program. Then you sync it to the music.

It works great as the charts scroll by in time to the music. You can even set the font size to the size you need to read it for us older guys who hate wearing glasses.

Both of the programs are available for free at Winamp.com

Winamp will play most file types from MP3 to Wav to Midi.

Hi

i am been using Winamp also for a couple of years. Rock solid with one exception. At one time my "music libary" would not appear and no matter what I did......it still would not load in the winamp screen. I had to down load winamp again. There is no "live" support for winamp that I can see.
