Acoustimass 10, Can I place the Subwoofer Module near my Desktop

Im currently using the Bose Acoustimass 10 and I had a question. Can I place the base unit next to my Desktop (a HTPC) 

 

It has a bunch of HDDs and considering its my Media Server will the unit harm the drives?

I wouldn't recommend this, the accoustimass produce the low sound waves which, will travel through your pc casing via vents and can, interfere with the hdd moving parts.

I doubt you would experience any problems at all.  My only consideration would be the large magnet that is included in any speaker.  However, the magnet would not be close enough to cause a problem with your HDD's.  Sound waves would not be an issue.
