AmpLink Inoperational

I have one of the early PS404A models, and I can't get the AmpLink connection to pass audio. I'm driving audio from my EX-1280C, and I have signal metering in the AmpLink out block of the DSP, but no audio into the amplifier. I'm using shielded CAT5e (also tried unshielded). When online with the amplifier in PowerShare Editor, I see no input metering. Checked and double checked the selector wheel on the rear of the panel. I have tried different AmpLink channels with no luck.

Today I loaded the latest firmware from PS Editor 2.11.

Any suggestions?

Hi Nick,

Was it working before?
Do you also see metering on de EX display (or only on the AmpLink block in CSD)?
What is the RJ45 LED status of the AmpLink input of the PowerShare?
And could it be that you used the "THRU" RJ45 port instead of the "INPUT"?

I just tested it with my system (CSD 5.0_948 / PSE 2.11 - 5.24) and the PowerShare was receiving audio using AmpLink.

Arno, it was working before, yes, but I haven't turned the amp on in a while, as it's been in storage, but the last time I used it, it was passing audio through AmpLink. The RJ45 LED's are dark on both sides, and I'm wired to the input, not thru. The signal is also metering on the front of the EX display.

I will try to roll back the firmware and see if that works.

I have tried rolling back the firmware and that doesn't help. However I did order an AmpLink card for my PM8500N, and audio isn't passing from the 1280C to that amplifier either. So, I think the issue is with the EX-1280C, so I will be ordering another.

Hi Nick,

Can you please try to update you EX-1280C with CSD 5.01.
I know I had a similar issue with one of the (older) EX firmware.

Hi Arno, I have done this without success.
