Anyone Know How To Add Pedalboard

Hi - I usually play an acoustic guitar into the Channel 1 input of a T1 which then goes into a Bose Compact. Recently I started adding a small 5 pedal, pedal-board. I do this by plugging my guitar into the pedal-board, then the pedal-board into the T1's Channel 1 input, which then goes into a Bose Compact. I was wondering is there another way to do this that might be more efficient somehow. Thanks.

Hi Frets,

Do you also sing? Is there a mic input or other device going through the T1? If you are not using other T1 channels or effects on the T1, you could plug the pedalboard directly into the Compact channel 2.

If you are using other channels in the T1 for mics or other instruments then the Compact Channel 2 is where you need to be and it is OK to run the board through the T1.

Does this help?

O..

Wow. Thanks so much for answering. I've had the compact for about 11 years now & I have to say it is one of the most amazing musical devices [for me] that I've come across. I play fingerstyle guitar mostly & don't sing anymore [unless maybe after a couple of beers, but I quit drinking 20 years ago so everyone is safe]. I have about 10 great T1 Presets I use to mix up my sound. Before COVID when I used to play live gigs people would be amazed at the Compacts sound & at the sweet tones I could produce. The pedals are me just getting bored from staying home so much & passing some time experimenting. There are so many combinations of things you could do with the T1 that I just go into a coma when I try do even simple things. I read & write music & can use 4 or 5 Music Editors and DAWS fluently but when it comes to different ways to rout & plug things in, I'm useless, as demonstrated by my not figuring out your simple solution.

I have done what you say & have noticed an incredible difference in the way everything sounds now. Awesome! I love it when you get that exciting feeling from picking up your guitar & playing. It's better than sex hmm, maybe not but it lasts longer. Enough of that.

One more question. Why would it sound better going in after the T1 than before the T1 [which is how I had it setup before]?

Thanks for the help. Appreciated 🙂

Hey Frets!

It may not necessarily sound 'better' having the pedalboard connected directly to the L1 Compact, as the T1 ToneMatch mixer will give you additional processing options.

However, having two stages of FX processing (pedalboard and T1 working simultaneously) may dilute the character of original sound source too much.

The best I can recommend is to continue experimenting and trying different setup combinations to see the different options available.

Hope this helps!
