Audio Streaming on SoundTouch speakers

Hey everyone,

Recently, we received reports on the community regarding issues with streaming some content on our SoundTouch and Bose Smart Home speakers. Thank you for bringing this our attention. We are actively working to better understand and resolve the issue.  We apologize for any impact this may have on your experience and will provide an update when we know more.

In the meantime, if you experience this issue please respond and let us know which product and what you were streaming when you experienced the issue.

Thanks!

I updated the software yesterday and since then, one of my stations tune into speakers - FIP (a French music station) - won't play.  It says 'service unavailable'.  So I tried to reprogram it into the speakers but  'action unavailable' comes up.  Since this time, the main FIP station has vanished from the TuneIn radio options and it's only offering me the FIP individual music style options, e.g. Jazz, World, etc.  Can you help me with this?

Hello Debhudon,

Thanks for reaching out today!

Can I please ask, are you able to reach the station's page using that link as I am unable to access that URL on my computer?

It may be that there is an issue with the station and not your Bose product.

If you are able to listen to this station online please let me know and I can look to helping you troubleshoot this issue?

I very much look forward to your response.

Kind Regards,

Hi Vicky,  I see what you mean,  I wonder if their url has changed?   I can listen to the station via their web page at https://wiccaradio.net/

Hi Debhudon,

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Can I please ask that you reach out to the website and ask if the stream URL has changed and get the updated one?

Once we have this I can get you listening to the station again.

Many Thanks,

Vicky W

thanks Vicky, I will contact them

Hi Vicky,  Just to let you know, I did contact the station.  Their URL had indeed changed, and once I entered the new on into my soundtouch it was back up and running again.  Thank you so much for the help identifying the problem

Hello Debhudon,

Thank you so much for getting back to me, I am glad that you are back up and running!

Thank you for your response. How does that work connecting to other speakers? What speakers can be used. If I understand you correctly, the $600 system that I just purchased does not allow me to set up a stereo experience.

The Wave speaker systems supports stereo and disperses stereo sound within the confines of it’s chassis. This is a well engineered product and performs admirably as a one piece music system and is well worth the money. You can group the Wave speaker with other Sound Touch and Smart Home speakers using the SoundTouch app or Airplay for a true multiroom experience. As far as extending the sound stage of the Wave  speaker that is not possible.

Hi

I just want to pass along some comments regarding my seamless multiroom experience on Halloween. I had a number of SoundTouch, Smart Home and Portable speakers grouped together over Airplay. With a Halloween Apple Music playlist playing from my iPhone, there was loud clear, good sounding Halloween tunes all over the house, patio, garage and outside. Great Fun!!

I understand some people may be experiencing streaming problems, fortunately that doesn't appear to be the case in my home setup. My Bose speakers working very well over the various network platforms including: Bluetooth, Airplay, SoundTouch and Smart Home(Bose Music).

I attribute my continuous success to good engineering by the folks at Bose and careful network operations in my home and patience. This stuff really works and for me has done so for some time.

All of my audio gear is Bose, networked wirelessly. My content is streamed from Apple Music, Stingray and TuneIn. Fortunately my station choices in Canada and the US are working well. Certainly I remain very satisfied with the Bose platform!

Can anyone respond or help with this?  My wave IV keeps dropping a station KPFT through TuneIn?

Have you checked with Tunein?

Hello - for at least the past ~1 week trying to listen to "Proton Radio" through TuneIn.  ST20/30 after about 10 seconds of trying where it displays what's currently playing on the station gives the "Please select a preset...." message, and in the App I get error 3103.  Meanwhile I can stream this station both through its own web site and via the TuneIn app on my iPhone.  Please help.

Have you tried contacting Tunein?

Now one of my local stations is giving me the error???? What is going on?  No answer from anyone at Bose?

Last time Bose helped fix the problem.  No one has even reached out from Bose?

Thank you for replying, Vicky.  Yes, I have the issue with Tunein as a preset, as well as trying to access the stations manually.  I am now able to receive XOFM...but still cannot access Beautiful Music 101.  I am able to stream both of these stations through TuneIn on my IPad, IPhone, laptop computer as well as Roku tv...just not Bose speaker ☹️  Each time Bose does an upgrade, I lose Beautiful Music 101, however, the screen on the speaker shows the radio station, what song is being played, etc., but after a few moments of the arrow spinning around,  I get the 3103 message, and no access to the station.

hopefully this is enough information for you to determine the cause of this issue.  Let me know if you need more information.  Thank you for your assistance.
