B2 Power Alternative?

Hi, I own a L1 Model II with a B2. I’ve thought about adding a second B2 but the PackLite being so expensive, I’ve held off from investing another $1000. Is there any cost-effective alternative to powering a second B2?

Thanks

Hi Reezer,

I don’t have a specific recommendation for you but I can tell you that the A1 PackLite delivers

250 watts RMS into 4 ohms.

So you’re looking for something that can do the same to properly power a second B2.

I hope that helps.

Yeah, thanks. But the B2 receives it’s power from the powerstand and cable. How would one get around that, please.

Thanks for your help Smile

Hi Reezer,

Let’s start with how you would hook up the A1 PackLite to drive a second B2.

  1. From the Model II Power Stand connect Bass Module Out to first B2
You are already doing this with the blue Bose cable that came with the B2.

  2. From the Model II Power Stand connect Bass Line Out to A1 PackLite
Use a ¼ inch jack Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable supplied with the A1 PackLite.

  3. From the A1 PackLite Output connect to the second B2
You will use the blue Bose cable that you will get when with your second B2.

If you don’t want to use an A1 PackLite, then you can use another amplifier (250 watts RMS into 4 ohms). That amplifier would be used in place of the A1 PackLite in the picture above.

Does that help?
