Hello Philrock12,
Congratulations on the purchase. You don't mention how much experience you have with sound systems, so forgive me if my answer seems too "novice level".
In simplest terms, just connect two XLR female to XLR male cables from the Main Outs on the XR18 to the input on each F1 812. From the top illustration on page 13 of the F1 812 manual: "If you connect to Input 1 on the F1 812, set the F1 Model 812 SIGNAL INPUT to LINE LEVEL." Also, if you purchased ONLY the F1 812's, "Set F1 Model 812 EQ to FULL RANGE." (If you also purchased one or more F1 subwoofers, refer to the manual for additional connection options.)
Turn the F1 812's volumes fully counter-clockwise (off) Then turn on any input sources and mixing consoles (your XR18) first, and then turn on the F1 Model 812 Loudspeaker [and the F1 Subwoofer(s) if you have any.] Once you start sending a signal from your XR18, adjust the 812's volume to your desired level. The placement, room acoustics, speaker array pattern and mixer EQ will all affect the sound, so experiment and have fun!
Does that help?
