Bluetooth Connection Dropouts

Hi All,

I was using my S1 Pro over the weekend for the family and was connected by Bluetooth the whole time. This is the first time I have used Bluetooth on the S1 for extended periods. Every few minutes, there would be a brief dropout or interruption in the music, very brief but noticeable. Phone is a Galaxy A5(2017) and the distance was no more than 5-7m outdoors.

Any thoughts?

Were you wandering around with the phone or was the phone stationary? You'll get the best results if you have a clear line of sight from the Bluetooth device to the S1 Pro.  If people were wandering around, or you were carrying the phone around with you, as you moved around the party, you may have, at times not had that clear line of sight all the time.

Do you have more than one Bluetooth device paired to the S1 Pro?

I bet you had a text, an email or some other notification on your phone that caused the temporary drop out. Hook it back up and have someone text/call/email the phone and see if that causes it.

From my experience, I notice that when I plug in the Bluetooth 5.0 receiver, I get better and consistent connection with very little droff off or interference.  Currently, I think the Bose S1 Pro is utilizing Bluetooth 4.x technology and I had a lot of problems with it.  You can get Bluetooth 5.0 (or later version if available) receiver on Amazon for fairly good price.

Jeff's Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) supports Bluetooth 4.2. Adding a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver probably won't make a difference. However, using an external receiver with the S1 Pro will be incompatible with the Bose Connect app.

Thanks everyone. Dropouts occurred when sitting stationary at around 5m line of sight outside. I will check again with data and WiFi off to see if incoming messages etc. is having an effect. I'll do some testing with incoming messages as well.
