Bluetooth Microphone

Is there always lag time between a Bluetooth microphone and the S1 Pro? Is it just the technology or could it be the particular Bluetooth mic I'm using?  I don't have the same problem with my Bose Mini, but I need bigger sound.

Hi Darbydog,

Lag time (often called latency) is typical of Bluetooth devices. Some devices use low-latency Bluetooth but both ends (transmitter and receiver) must be using the low-latency protocol.  Even with low-latency Bluetooth, the best you can expect is at least 40 milliseconds of latency. That's like hearing yourself from a loudspeaker 40 feet away.

That's all hypothetical though. The S1 Pro doesn't support low-latency Bluetooth. The Bluetooth functionality is intended for backing tracks not live sound reinforcement (like a microphone or instrument).

I'm surprised you don't hear the latency with the Bose Mini. It could just be that the Bose Mini is not very loud and you are hearing yourself through bone conduction well enough that you're not noticing it.
