Bluetooth to stereo pair

Soundtouch 10 stereo pair will not play without sound drop off when using bluetooth connection. Using Audio Technics record player.

Hello BrianW,

Thanks for reaching out.

I am sorry that you are having this issue and would love to assist you. To start with, please can you ensure that you are running on the latest firmware by:

  1. Power on your system.
  2. On the top of your system, simultaneously press and hold the 4 and Volume - buttons for about 5 seconds until all the lights on the front of your system blink.
  3. Wait while the update completes:
    1. While downloading the update, the Wi-Fi light slowly blinks.
    2. While installing the update, the Wi-Fi light glows for a few seconds, then blinks twice and repeats.
    3. When the update is complete, the system might reboot, then the Wi-Fi light will glow solid.

Once you have done this please test the system again and let me know how you get on.

Kind Regards,

Hello Vicky

Have done the update on both of my 10s

Unfortunately this has not solved the problem.

Is there a next step please?

I  did do a factory reset recently to help with another problem I had which was fixed.

Regards Brian

Hello BrianW,

Thanks for getting back in touch, I am sorry to hear that updating the speakers did not work. I just want to clarify whether you have updated your speakers via this method? Can you also please confirm whether you have reset your device by following the steps suggested by ?

To reset your product:

  • Turn off your product and disconnect the power cord for 30 seconds.

Additionally, I would recommend clearing the pairing list of the headphones and the device you are using. You can do this by following the steps below:

  • On the button pad or the remote control, press and hold the Bluetooth|AUX button for about 10 seconds until the Bluetooth light blinks white twice.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Kindest regards,

Zoe C

Hello Zoe

I updated my 2 x 10's using the method recommended by Vicky W.

I did not use any of the manual methods as I don't have the relevant cable. The update on the app is greyed out.

I have disconnected from the power and cleared the pairing list as per your suggestion.

What would you like me to do next ?

Regards Brian

Hello Brian,

Could you please let us know which firmware version the speakers are running so that we can establish if they are up to date? The latest version should be 22.0.3.

How far apart are the 2 x SoundTouch 10 speakers? It is possible that you are experiencing some audio dropouts due to interference.

I look forward to hearing back from you?

Warm regards,

Charlotte G

Hello Charlotte

Firmware is 22.0.3

They are just over 4 ft apart with nothing in between them.

Hello Brian,

Thank you for confirming this information.

Are you able to test this with another device besides the Audio Technics record player?

Do you experience any audio drops when only one speaker is paired?

Warm regards,

Charlotte G

Hello Charlotte

I have tested the stereo pair with my Galaxy tab and my phone.

The result is still drop out.

Connecting to one speaker at a time works fine.

I beginning to think that perhaps the stereo pairing is not supported in bluetooth mode.

Regards Brian

Hello Brian,

Thanks for testing your speakers with alternative devices.

Although your speakers are placed at a suitable distance, it is possible that there are devices surrounding that can cause interference. Even items such as your microwave can have an effect. Would it be possible to relocate your speakers for some testing?

Warm regards,

Charlotte G

Hello Charlotte

Tried Spotify through the app. It worked perfectly.

Tried the turntable again. Still drop out and the bluetooth  light glowed white.

Stereo pairing seems to work on other inputs I try.

The turntable just doesn't like the stereo pair.

I'm thinking that there is possibly a problem with the bluetooth on the turntable so I'm going to contact Audio Technica.

Many Thanks for your help

Brian
