Bose 700 Remote - How To Keep The Backlight On Longer?

I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the time that the backlight stays on?

The buttons are all black unless they are backlit.  (ie. you can't see them unless they are backlit)

The backlighting comes on when you move (or shake) the remote... but then the back-lighting goes out within a second or two.

Kind of a pain to have to keep shaking the remote, every time I need to see the buttons.

Hi JimmyDee

Thanks for writing in!

Currently there isn't a way of modifying the back light on the remote, but I will be sure to bring this up to our development team to see if this is something that can be implemented in a software update.

Thank you for asking this. The remote isn’t very accessible to use for individuals with an impairment such as mobility or visual because it they may not be quick enough to respond to the illuminated buttons timely, before they shut off. Very frustrating.

Hello,

Has there been any update on the light issue with the remote.
1-2 seconds is not enough time for the backlit light.

Hi Mr. Islander

Thanks for writing in!

Still no update from the development team, but will keep everyone updated once we hear anything.

cool thx

I too have tried figuring out if there was a way for the light to stay on longer. I find myself shaking my remote too often just to see where my buttons are. It wouldn’t be a big deal if the remote wasn’t so smooth and I could learn raised button layout.

Completely agree. The back lights going out is frustrating and ruins the experience. Made us go back to our old remotes.

Tony, this is a real pain in the butt and needs to be fixed sooner rather than later. I am an old person 76 and since I keep shaking it, it makes me want to throw the **bleep** remote at the TV because the lights keep going out before I can even look at them. Maybe you young guys are that quick but us older people need a little more time.

I could not even explain to my wife how the remote works because the backlights keep going out before I could say one word. More than a few curse words, it is a good thing it doesn’t hear sound.
