Hello,
I acquired QC15 recently. It connected without any difficulty with iPhone using connect bose app. That phone belongs to my wife; since she does not use it much while being at home, I can use it whenever I want. But when she is traveling which was the case recently, I must use my crummy iPhone 6 (we are fans of cellphones and we use them for emergency purposes or podcasts, etc). When I tried to pair it using connect bose, it never succeeded. it would try and then ask me to try later or some unhelpful message like that. After 20 tries, I decided to call technical support and I found them to be totally unhelpful. They claimed that I should not be able to "pair up" or use it without a cable. I asked the rep to convey my issue to their technical staff, which apparently she did, as after a month or more, finally, I got a response which essentially repeated what I was told on the phone. In any case, I found out about this forum and did see that Wayne had a related problem. Does anyone have encountered a similar problem and found a solution? Thanks a lot. I am happy to post the email I got today if that is helpful.
They are right. The QC15 was not a BT headphone and can only be used with the cable. ( I think they stopped selling it more than 10 years ago)
The QC25 was Bose's first BT Noise cancelling headphone, but if I recall correctly was not compatible with any Bose app.
So you either have the wrong model number, or it is not an authentic pair of Bose QC15s
Thanks indeed, for my mistake. The headset is indeed QC 35II. I bought it from BECEXTech.com; the invoice indeed says QC35II. However, for some strange reason, the headset arrived as enclosed in a smaller box of QC35II which was inserted inside another bigger box of QC15 with QC15 picture and what not. That is what kept me confused with me ever bothering to find out whether I had QC15 or QC35. Now that is confirmed, perhaps the community members here can help me resolve my issue.
My apologies for causing unnecessary confusion.
Deepak
OK, so first steps would be starting from scratch.
With the headphones on, hold the on switch in the BT position for around 10 sec (you will hear it say BT device list cleared). On your Iphone, go into BT settings and forget the device. I'd even suggest uninstall and reinstall Bose connect.
Connect your headphones to the computer and go to btu.bose.com and make sure the headphones are on the latest update.
Then I would connect using the iphone setting rather than Bose connect. I find it easier that way, but updates may have changed this. Then once connected try using Bose connect to find them.
