This is my third pair of bose sound sports where the left ear has died out on me. The worst part is this pair has lasted less than four months. Am I missing something where I can easily fix this problem or is it just poor build quality.

Have you tested connecting the headphones to an alternate device such as mobile phone, tablet or computer to test for results? Do you use a protective case on the source device that may restrict the cables being connected successfully?
