I did a search and could not find any info on it here. So the question is:
What are your thoughts on pairing the L1 Pro 32 with the F1 Subwoofer? Here's why I ask. I already own 2 F1 Systems. I still crave to see what I can do with a true line array column. Based on SPL alone , I would veer toward the Pro 32. Since I already have subs by Bose, I'm halfway there.
Has anyone tried this, what are your thoughts? As a matter of fact, what about pairing with some B2 bins, or any sub that we have sitting around the house?
The L1 Pro32 system can be used with the F1 subwoofer - the best way to achieve this setup is to connect your audio source to the F1, then line out from the subwoofer to the Pro32 and use the HPF on the sub line out for optimum clarity.
As the legacy B1 and B2 bass modules do not have any XLR or 1/4" connections, they are not compatible for use with the L1 Pro series.
Thanks for the information. Would I have a gap in sound because the F1 sub crosses over @ 100Hz when HPF is engaged? Would this combo result in full sound? I know it's relative to the ear but what does raw data tell us?
The S1 Pro has a frequency response 62Hz - 17kHZ ±3dB, so it will comfortably handle frequencies from 100Hz upwards. With the HPF on the F1's line out engaged, the S1 Pro's is freed up from replicating the lowest frequencies which should give you a more well rounded, clearer sound overall.
thanks for the info. I still would like to explore this subject more. Outside of recommendations, what makes sub1/sub2 the best partner for L1 Pro32? Are they uniquely matched to hit the frequency ranges harmoniously? Outside of the proprietary cabling, is there any distinct advantage to using sub1/sub2 vs any other sub?
The Sub1/Sub2 and the L1 Pro32 are specifically designed with each other in mind. Whilst you may be able to get great results using other components, we have specifically designed this as a cohesive Portable PA system, so you are a lot more likely to achieve a great sound signature "out of the box" with this pairing.
