BOSE QC 35 II mic distortion on online apps like whatsapp/zoom

I got my BOSE QC 35 II delivered yesterday and while making Whatsapp calls the client on other side kept complaining about a robotic/crackling sound. I would turn the bluetooth off and on back again immediately from the Whatsapp call and it would fix itself. But again in a few mins the problem of robotic sound would start again.

I did a quick google search Bose Mic distortion and found threads on this community from 2017/2018/2020 where the same issue has been raised by many users. Links here.

I am super annoyed. These headphones have been around for over 2 years now and still BOSE continues to deliver defective products?

The response on all the threads was to get in touch with the customer service to ask for replacement.

My product has a manufacturing date of March 28th, 2020 and it carries the same issues thats existing from 2018. Is this the kind of service we expect from a reputed trustworthy company like BOSE. I raised the issue with the customer support in Germany and now I have been asked to send back the unit and then they would send a replacement unit which would take over a month. Is it my fault to trust a company like BOSE, buy a defective unit and suffer?

So what are my options now?  I don't even know if this rant of mine will get a reply from BOSE, but I am now a super annoyed consumer feeling retarded buying this headphone with which I can only listen to music but not make CALLS! What are my options now? What can I do? I would ask BOSE to send me the replacement unit first and if that works as expected I would return my defective unit. Why should I be the one suffering as a consumer when you are selling defective products knowing the defect.

One solution for everyone else struggling with this issue.

Connect to one device only. I have switched off my noise cancellation and self voice. Connected to only on my phone. I didn't have any issue on my next Whatsapp call. This was just one call but the issue didn't occur after 30 mins of talking as well. (earlier the issue would rise in less than 5 mins).

Will try next with switching on noise cancellation and then with self voice as well, so we can zero down on the issue. Will keep the post updated.

Can confirm the mic distortion happens when you are connected to two devices. Been using only connected to my phone since 2 days with ANC and self voice on and no issues. Guess Bose should really work on this. Looks like a software bug. If someone from bose is in this community please have a look at the bug!

Thank you for your insights.

However, I find that this is a very poor customer service level as provided by Bose.

This is an issue that has been around for a long time...!

On top of that, my device also lost a hinge screw and they have suggested I should buy a new pair and can't indicate what type of parts they use so I can buy them online.

Due to all the software issues and poor customer support, I will never again buy a Bose headset.

Good luck with that approach Bose.
