I have a Bose Solo 5 soundbar that I have connected to a Sony TV. The optical port on the tv was broken, so I’m looking for other options to get the signal from the tv to the soundbar. Does the USB port work? How about the simple audio output on the tv? Any ideas how to get around this? Thanks for the help.
From my understnading the USB is for updates/support only.
If the optical doesn't work it has the Aux input. So you can go from the stereo RCA out (with a RCA-3.5mm adapter) or a headphone out. Unfortunately some newer TVs have removed these outputs, but I think most Sonys should still have the headphone output.
