Bose Soundbar 700 Bluetooth unable to pair to Turntable

I have a Bluetooth Audio Technica (AT-LP60-BT) wireless turntable device that I would like to pair to the Bose Soundbar 700 via Bluetooth connection to complete my home stereo setup. Both devices are placed into pairing mode, but the Bose system terminates the pairing process. I was told that the Bluetooth streaming source requires a screen to connect to Bose Soundbar 700. Is this, in fact, true? I read a few forums where this issue was present in the Soundbar 300, but was corrected with an update. Can we expect an update for this issue?

I’d like to know more about this as well. I’m planning on buying a Bluetooth turntable soon.

Hello everyone!

Thank you for your post regarding the setup of the Soundbar 700 to a turntable. I am sorry to hear of the issues you are encountering attempting to connect the two together via Bluetooth. I would recommend attempting a reset of both the turntable and the soundbar. To do this, unplug both from power and leave them for 1 minute before plugging both back in. Also, clearing the pairing list on the soundbar may also help us resolve the issue. To do this, press and hold the Bluetooth button on the soundbar remote, to which the soundbar will pulse blue twice to confirm this.

Give this a try and let me know if the issues are still persistent.

Warm Regards,

Hi Sam. Thank you for the response. I attempted your troubleshooting techniques and was not successful. I cleared the pairing list on the Soundbar 700. Reset power to the Soundbar 700 and the wireless turntable. Each attempt I make, they both go into their respective pairing mode, and after a couple seconds of searching, the Turntable’s LED status indicator for Bluetooth activity stops blinking RED/BLU(searching) and starts fast blinking BLU(connecting) but the connection is never established. Both device will eventually time-out of their pairing mode. With some experimenting, I’ve verified that when the turntable Bluetooth status indicator light switches from the flashing RED/BLU to the fast BLU flashing, it is in fact trying to connect to the Soundbar 700 because when I put the turntable into pairing mode with either the power removed from the Soundbar 700 or the Soundbar 700 removed from pairing mode, the turntable will just keep flashing RED/BLU(searching) and the never attempt to connect, or pair. Why won’t the Bose Soundbar 700 establish a simple Bluetooth connection?

Hi Derrick,

Thank you for providing this information!

I'm sorry to hear that you continue to experience issues in the connection.

Have you been able to successful connect your turntable to another device? Likewise, have you been able to connect your SoundBar 700 to any other devices?

Let us know! Have a great day!

Hi Jessie. Yes. I have have tested the pairing capability of each device with other devices and verified they are both capable of pairing. I can pair my turntable to my Bose Soudlink ll mini and literally ever other wireless speaker/headphones in my house, except my Bose Soundbar 700. I attempted to pair a bluetooth wireless transmitter to the Bose Soundbar 700 and was unable to pair as well. It seems like the bluetooth connection on the Soundbar 700 will only pair with a mobile device. All tests ive done are consistent. Both devices go into pairing mode, the turntable discovers and attempts to pair, but nothing ever happens. The Bose Soundbar 700 just sets there blinking the BLUE light until it eventually times out of the pairing process.

Thanks Jessie! i'll be eagerly awaiting the solution. As I had mentioned previously, it appears this issue was present in the Sountouch 300, see thread: https://community.bose.com/t5/SoundTouch-Archive/SoundTouch-300-Soundbar-amp-Bluetooth-Turntable/td-p/50138  Not sure if it is the exact same thing going on but might be worth looking into. Thank you for your help. If there is any other information I can provide to help get this resloved, please let me now.
