Bose T1 tonematch Audio Engine Cable

Hi,

I live in the UK and I've searched everywhere in the UK to find the above product without success. There are a few on eBay but only in China. I feel somewhat insecure about purchasing out of the country since Brexit where they could start piling on import tax and VAT etc. I'm sorry to bore on this but can any Bose owners here in the UK point me in the direction of somewhere I might purchase one of these cables, I think they are about 18 feet long and they power the Tonematch 1 from the power supply of the L1 Model 2 and 1S.

Thank you Tony

Hello tonyparham,

Electrically, the Tonematch cable is a standard Ethernet cable, so any regular CAT-5 or CAT-6 cable will work.  I believe the limit is 50 feet, but a 20-footer would be closer to the 18-foot Bose-supplied cable.  Of couse, you can use shorter as well!

The Tonematch cable that ships with the T1 is an "etherCON" type cable, engineered with the locking housing shells ("carriers") on both ends.  You can likewise search eBay or other internet sites for "etherCON cable" and likely find them lower.

If you are comfortable working with cables, you could also purchase just the carriers (Neutrik NE8MC etherCON RJ45 Cable Carrier) and install them yourself onto a standard CAT-5 or CAT-6 cable.

Does that help?

Hi Fish-54,

Thanks very much that helps a lot, I thought it was a cable dedicated to the Bose equipment. Kind regards Tony.
