Best way to set up Bose Tonematch T8S to two Bose S1 Pro Speakers
Hello B-Man,
The simplest way is exactly as pictured on page 14 of the S1 Pro System Owner's Guide.
You can use either two XLR female to 1/4" TRS cables, or two 1/4" TRS to 1/4" TRS cables from the left and right main outputs of the T8s to each S1 Pro. (Or you can use one of each! I prefer 1/4" to 1/4" -- signal quality is exactly the same, and you don't have to worry about which end is which!) The T8s' XLR and 1/4" outputs send the same line-level signal. On the S1 Pro, insert the 1/4" TRS into the center of Channel 1 (for line-level signals) and turn the ToneMatch switch off.
Leave the Treble, Bass and Reverb controls set to their center position. Adjust your EQ, reverb and effects on the T8s. Set the volume on the S1 Pro Channel 1 to about 3 to start. On your T8s, gain stage the channel trims so you get steady green (occasional flashes of red are OK); mix your sound with the channel volumes; and raise your Master volume until you hear sound from your S1 Pro. Raise your T8s Master volume until you see steady green on the S1 Pro's channel lights (occasional flashes of red OK.) If you start seeing long or constant red on your S1 Pro's channel lights, turn the T8s Master volume down a little so you don't overdrive the S1 Pro's inputs and make the limiters kick in.
Does that help?
