I know there is a (long-running) topic on Soundtouch 10's turning themselves on.
i have a similar problem with my Wave Soundtouch. It regularly turns itself on while I'm asleep in bed. Fortunately it doesn't play music at loud volumes, but I think tries to connect to something and fails, so that it .then emits a low hum. I can hear it (justj from upstairs, but not from my bedroom!.
I don't use Bluetooth or a NAS drive, just a wireless network run from my Win 10 PC.
How can I stop it happening, please?
Hi clearcomms,
When the system turns on at night, what is displayed on the front of the system? Does the system indicate that it is in AM/FM, CD, or SoundTouch? If the source is SoundTouch, what source within SoundTouch is playing?
Also, on the top-right hand corner of the display, do you see the number 1 or 2 with a time next to the number? This would indicate that an alarm is programmed to turn on at that time. There are buttons on the bottom of the remote which will correspond to each alarm, and pressing those buttons will activate/deactivate the alarm.
Lastly, have you tried to unplug your system from power for a full two minutes and then plug it back in?
Let us know the answers to the questions above and we can take it from there! Thanks!
This may surprise you, but when newly woken early in the morning, and hearing a system that’s supposed to be off humming loudly, I didn’t notice! Tomorrow morning I will try to take note, particularly of your point about the alarms that I didn’t know were there, since that seems a likely culprit. Hope to get back to you tomorrow.
From your reply, it is not clear that the alarm time and number is displayed permanently. But it is, and peering at the display across the room, I saw it. And that meant I could turn it off.
i don't use the remote, controlling the Soundtouch from my iPad, and the alarms aren't shown on that (one more example of things wrong with the app, imho).
So the problem is now solved - thanks for your help.
