I am frustrated tonight trying to get the Model 2 going. I live in rural Canada and it is a long drive to any city.
I opened my T4S box and there is one cable only. 1)Question: Do I need another cable for a firmware update?
2)I watched and tried all the videos advice: Do I need a separate power cable(not included) for the model 2..according to the video I do not. ?? 3) The set up I require is for piano vocal; or guitar vocal: What is wrong with what I am doing to get any sound whatsoever through the tonematch into the bose model 2 line-array?
I have rented this before but never had issues like this?

You need a USB cable. If you have purchased a USB printer in the last 10 years, it probably came with a cable like this

There should have been a power cable with the Model II Power Stand.

Does the T4S screen light up when you turn on the power switch at the back?
Does the Model II Power Stand light come on? (Blue LED)

I'm sure you know, you'll need a cable for the microphone and one of the piano, unless you're using a microphone for that too.
Is it simply firmware? man.!
Thanks for any help!

Everything should work even without the firmware update, but some things will work better after you apply the new firmware.
If you didn't get the two cables I mentioned above, please contact the dealer where you got the system or you can call Bose Support. They can also walk you through setting up the system.

Thanks for all your time and consideration. : tonematch cable: yes i have this Yes as well : the power cord for the model two
I will go get a usb printer cable or the like for the update. thank you for that tip
Yes: the model two power stand light is on (and the system works when i plug the guitar into the stand directly
I do have the patch cables for a vocal and guitar for sure.
Tried two different patch cables to get a signal (green light) through the channel/trim... flickered green when unplugging but not constant when fully flugged in.
tried also a mic cable (without the 58 attached) nothing (perhaps needed the mic on it with phantom power on: will try again at noon here..
The T4S light does come on when I plug the cable into it.
? wasnt sure if it was a volume setting somewhere that needed to be up from the factory. (bose helpline suggested a faulty T4 S perhaps....

Okay, it sounds like the power stand is working.

Let's try this (just for diagnostics).
TEST
Connect the T4S Right ToneMatch port to the Model II ToneMatch port.
While the T4S is off, press and hold the four CH Mute buttons and then turn on the power switch on the back of the T4S. When you see "REBOOTING", you can release the buttons. Wait 30 seconds. We are doing this for test. This is not something you have to do every time.
Connect the microphone to T4S channel 1 using an XLR cable.
Turn the channel 1 trim control to 12:00 o'clock (straight up)
Turn the channel 1 volume control to 12:00 o'clock (straight up)
Make sure the CH EDIT button for channel 1 is off (not lit up)
Talk into the microphone and bring up the Master Volume to about 12:00 o'clock.
Do you hear your voice through the L1?
If you don't get any sound then it's likely there is a problem with the T4S or the ToneMatch cable.

Have you spoken with someone at Bose Support?

should be easier than this.
Do you have a network cable (CAT-5, CAT-6, or CAT-7)? If you do, use it instead of the ToneMatch cable that came with the T4S.
Try the TEST steps again.
If you don't get any sound then it's likely there is a problem with the T4S. At this point if you still don't get any sound - please call Bose Support.
