Can the Pro32 be run safely with only the bottom array? (too tall)

I'm coming from an L1 Model II which as I understand it CAN be run in half.

Can the new Pro32 be safely run as a half stack? I just got mine and it's like 7ft tall! I can definitely foresee situations where it's just not going to fit. I just want to make sure I can run it in half without damaging the amplifier.

Thanks.

Hello RobKfl,

The Pro32 is actually only 1/10" taller than the Model II (84.1" vs 84").

I couple of users on the "Bose L1" group on Facebook recently discussed this, and said they had good results. but I think it should be the same as running half-stack with a Model II.  The total sound will be "12 speakers short", but I don't think it will do any physical damage to the system.

I haven't heard anyone from Bose chime in as far an "official" comment on this.

Does that help?

Hi RobKfl!

The L1 Pro32 system can be used without the upper speaker array with no issues - please see page 7 in the owner's manual

As this system has 32 drivers, using this setup with just the lower array will give you 16 drivers in total.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info and the link to the manual.

I have run my L1 mkII many times with only the bottom part of the array in low ceiling gigs.

One was in a teepee.

No problem at all.
