I have 2 Bose Home Speaker 500s. Nearly every time i play music, I group the two of them on the Bose app. Is there a way to save this group so I don’t have to recreate the group every time I play music? It would be helpful to save the grouping, maybe give the group a name and chose that group name when I play music instead of making the same group over and over.
if not, I suggest this as a feature for Bose to consider adding.

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Community.
Groups made in the app are not permanent and will need to be recreated after turning off the speakers, or they go into standby mode.
It isn't currently possible to save or name your groups in the Bose Music app, but I'll be sure to pass this suggestion along to the development team for consideration. I couldn't say for certain whether this is something that will be added but I'll make sure the team knows this is something you would be interested in!
If you want to keep the speakers grouped when using voice commands, you can do so with Alexa, but not Google Assistant at this time. To create a group for Alexa you would need to follow these steps.
Currently, only Bose Music speakers can be grouped this way, adding other speakers to the Alexa group will not work.

I ran into the same issue, and here is Bose's tech reply :
"In regards to the speakers not staying grouped, as we have had to comply with new US power saving laws the speakers will go into standby mode after 30 minutes of no usage/playing music. If you're leaving the speakers without using them even if they're grouped for more than 30 minutes they will go into standby to conserve power."
I really wish the grouping would stay after the speaker going into sleep mode, i hope they will include that in a near future feature release !

I am still sitting with the issue, and as far as i know the statement from Bose's tech is accurate (see above)
I am just wondering if this is something looked into, and if a future firmware release will fix it ?

Yes, grouping stops when they go to sleep. meaning i have to re-group them really often, which really makes the grouping unusable / too convoluted to be used

Can you at least make grouping easier in the app, or as a widget in Android?
I would love to either:
a) Have a "re-group last group" in the app home screen
b) Have a "re-group last group" as a widget on my Android screen
c) Be able to save the group as "Group X" and then be able to quick select "enable Group X"
I have my portable speaker grouped with my Home 300 and it is annoying to have to re-group this every day. As a workaround I mute music instead of stopping it, but this is also not ideal.

I totally agree on the previous users request : please make the GROUPING function easier, since the grouping can't be saved after the Bose Home 500 goes on standby mode.
This is really disappointing when you invest into 2 Bose Home 500 speakers, which is worth more than 650 euros...
