I just bought a Bose Home Speaker 300 and am trying to set it up for the first time. I want use it as an alternate speaker for my PC. This is how I tried to set it up:
1) I plugged the speaker into an outlet and waited for the indicator light to glow steady red.
2) I went to my PC and clicked on Settings --> Devices --> Bluetooth and other devices. I turned the Bluetooth switch on and clicked on Add Bluetooth or other device.
3) I went back to the speaker and pressed the Bluetooth button until the indicator light flashed blue.
4) I went back to my computer and waited for the speaker to appear in the list of available Bluetooth devices.
5) When Bose Home Speaker 300 appeared, I clicked on it. It was successfully paired with my computer.
6) I clicked on Sound Settings in the Related Settings section. I then clicked on Sound Control Panel.
7) In the pop-up window, both my computer's regular speaker and the Bose speaker appeared, but the Bose speaker was listed as disconnected.
I right-clicked on the Bose speaker and clicked on Connect in the pop-up menu. The speaker emitted a tone and for a moment seemed connected. But the connection was immediately dropped and the speaker remains virtually disconnected.
Could you please show me a way forward on this? I would be very appreciative!
Thank you,
Michael Klein
