Connect to Freespace 3 series II acoutimass

Hi everyone,

I'm after some help please, can someone tell me how or if I can connect two DS40F speakers to a freespace series 3 flush acoustimass bass unit.

I'm hoping to maybe use a sonos or Yamaha amp to drive them all, but not sure on the wiring.

Thanks

Hi Graham,

It is not recommended to connect DS40F to a FreeSpace 3 Acoustimass module directly, as the FS3 has a passive crossover for our small FreeSpace 3 satellite speakers.

If you're using a low-impedance / home stereo amp, you'll want one with 2 sets of stereo outputs. One can be used (maybe 'speakers B') as a stereo connection to the FreeSpace 3 module (2 channels), and the other to the two DS40Fs.

Also note that there is specific wiring methods depending on what type of amp you're connecting, and specific 'tap' settings for low impedance vs high-impedance.

Normally these are used in commercial installations using 70V/100V amplifiers, but are also compatible with 4-8 ohm amp outputs.

Here are some references to wiring:
