Connecting an F1

Hello, I recently ordered a F1 sub which I will connect to my 2 Bose S1 Pro for home use.  My question is will the F1 be discoverable by the Bose connect app or do I need to purchase a separate blue tooth device?  My end objective is to connect the sub to my S1 wired so I can use the hi pass filter but how do I connect my phone or tablet to the sub?  Hopefully I can use the Bose connect app but if not what else do I need?  Thanks in advance.

Hey Pete,

Welcome to the Bose forum! Thank you for joining us.

The S1 Pro is the only Bose PA system compatible with Bose Connect. As the F1 subwoofer does not include built-in Bluetooth connectivity, it can not be added within the Bose Connect app.

To control music playback via the Bose Connect app, you would need to connect your mobile device via Bluetooth to the S1 Pro, then use the S1's line output to connect to the F1 sub.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Dylan.  That is helpful.  However now I have a follow up question.  If I connect the S1 to the F1 via the output, will the high pass work?  Similarly, what happens to my other S1 which will not be connected to the sub.  I am hoping to find a way to connect the speakers where the hi pass could be used with the signal going to both S1.  In my inexperienced mind, the signal would go to the sub, then through hi pass out to both S1.  Thoughts on how to accomplish that?

Hi Pete!

With two S1 Pro speakers, it is indeed best to have the audio source going into the F1 subwoofer, then use the F1's line outputs to connect to the S1 Pro speakers. This is also the only setup which would enable you to utilise the HPF on the F1 sub's line output.

However, the F1 does not have built-in Bluetooth connectivity. In order to stream music to the F1 sub wirelessly, you would need to use a separate Bluetooth receiver.
