Correct power AC cord gauge

Hello,

Need recommend specs for a power cord/xlr combo cable. I will have two custom builds of 25ft dual cable.
I would like to have dual fans(cable split)on the AC power to two iec plugs. One will power the F1 sub and 2nd to the F1 812. Peak ratings is listed in owner’s guide.

120 V RMS: 6.3A RMS 23 V RMS: 4.6A RMS

Will one 14 gauge 300vPW142a rated power cord be efficient for both the F1 812 and F1 sub?

The combo cord will be one XLR -f balanced with Edison plug to XLR -m balanced with dual iec plugs for F1 812 and F1 sub.

If a Bose rep can verify the ratings, or suggest the correct cable specification for AC power at 25ft length?

Thank you

Hi Badtoad,

Great question and very timely.

I’m not a Bose rep but I was talking to the technical people at Bose today about this very same issue.

The recommendation is that AC cables should be 14 gauge for cables longer than 10 feet when used to power the F1 Model 812 and F1 Subwoofer.

Does that help?

ST

Thanks Toonz

You go above the call of duty in the forum.

I’m not a certified electrician , so I look for help to make sure , I’m using the correct AC power cables for the F1’s. I see a bright future using the F1’s for my applications and sound scenarios . I plan to order cables from NLFX, so I want to give correct wire rating.

The F1’s have been excellent for my shows. I just need to find a used L1s. I can use as a satellite placement or booth moniter behind my F1’s.

I might call the Bose help line to check AC power ratings , so I can have a clean single combo cable run to the F1s
Thanks
