Hello @ all,
I tried to update my Virtual Sound Card 3.4 to 3.7. During the installation process I got a Blue Screen and the system shut down. It wasn’t possible to reboot my PC, it always hung up before the login screen appears. The IT Admin was unable to find the pc in the network. I started the system in save mode and unistalled all DANTE VSC components.
But it was still not possible to boot the pc, with or without network. I tried it a few times again and suddenly my PC worked. Our Adim supposed a conflict with the network drivers or a problem with our security policy.
I don’t tried again to install DANTE VSC.
Had anyone a similar problem?
Best regards,
Matthias
Hi Matthias,
I have not installed the new version (yet), but maybe you better can contact Audinate.com for this.
I installed Dante Virtual Soundcard on Windows 7 and 8 and did not run into the problem you had. I’ll reach out to Audinate and see if anyone has experienced similar problems. The blue screen and subsequent problems starting windows do point toward a driver conflict. If you do try installing it again, I’d recommend installing it as an Administrator. To do this right-click on the install file and choose "Run as administrator"
Trevor
Hello Trevor,
thanks for your advice. The result is the same.
I already contacted Audinate.
Let’s see what they can tell me.
By the way, version 3.2 ran without any problem.
Regards,
Matthias
Hi,
I clicked a little bit around and made it work.
Here is what I did:
I noticed in the W7 control panel, that some DANTE components have the same install date like CSD (not absolutely sure if 4.1 or 4.11). I unistalled CSD4.1 and CSD4.11 because their DANTE support. After that I tried to uninstall DANTE Controller and DANTE Virtual Soundcard. No chance! At both the uninstall process stopped and could not be finished. I downloaded the actual version of DANTE Controller (3.5) and could install it without any problems. Now I did the same with DANTE Vitual Soundcard 3.7, this time without system crash or any error messages. I also reinstalled CSD4.11 and now it seems that every software works.
As soon if I’m back in the office I’ll verify it with DANTE hardware.
