Dual B2 subs with the L1 Model II and Tonematch?

I have the L1 Model II with B2 sub, but want to add a second B2.

I know I will need to get the A1 Packlite to power the second B2, but my question is, how will these be wired? The only information I can find, shows how the A1 Packlite is connected to the compact system, or Model 1, I think… But I am running the system with the Tonematch mixer, which sends the signal to the base of the tower via the network cable. I can’t find any information, before I order the second B2.

Thanks!

Hi TreyDavis,

Thank you for joining the Forum.

You keep all your existing connections as they are now.

You connect the Model II Power Stand Bass Line Out to the A1 PackLite (using the supplied cable) to the B2. The cable for the B2 comes with the B2.

Does that help?

Ha, that is exactly what I was looking for! Not sure why I hadn’t seen it before, or even noticed the Bass-Line Out!

Thank you so much for the quick response, I feel a lot more comfortable now!

Hi Trey,

That’s great.

If you’ve got a minute, please tell us how you are using your L1®.

Thanks!

I’m a solo performer, and have used the L1 Model II everywhere over the last year from small restaurant porch settings, to large stages with 400 people, to a stage in the middle of the street in town, and it’s been amazing!

I’ve been playing for 25 years (since I was 13), both with a band from 1990 to 2001, to a solo act since 2003, sharing the stage with A-list and B-list country/southern rock acts. Even when I started playing solo, I always used large PA systems, 18" subs, 2x12" cabinets on each side, tons of wattage, large light shows, etc… But getting rid of that monster PA, and replacing it with the Bose L1 Model II was the best investment I’ve made in all those 25 years!

Adding a second B2 is in my plans, because I use a drum machine for some stuff, and adding a little extra bass would make those songs even better, I believe!

I was considering do the same, but heard the F1 sub. Easily outruns a pair of B2s. It’s hard to believe… The freq is similar to the B2, so there is no gap. Plays nicely with a L1 II.

Just sell your B2 and get a F1. Less stuff to carry too!

Hey Trey,

Thanks! It’s nice to get to know you better.

PS - I have the Model II and B2 and the F1 Model 812 and F1 Subwoofer. I would NOT sell my B2 and replace it with an F1. You can read about some comparisons and some discussion on that line of thinking over here in the F1 Forum. When you first start reading it won’t appear to be on point, but keep going and by the third post you’ll see why I’m directing you there.
