Energy star rating for amplifiers

Hi,

One of our clients wants to know if our PM amplifiers are EnergyStar 3.0 compliant; is it applicable only for consumer products or is a specification for pro audio too

Hi Ravi,

There is a specific Energy Star 3.0 specification for Audio/Video components. That spec outlines the required features and specs for sleep mode and on mode. That spec outlines that the max power in sleep mode is 4 Watts. PM amps consume 31 Watts in standby mode, so PM amps do not meet that Energy Star requirement.
