Now when I turn on my system, there is a horrible humming. I removed each cord one by one, the see if any cord was faulty, but no. When I turn on the engine, the humming gets louder.
I bought the system new, in 2011, and it has been a workhorse. So reliable. This is the first problem I’ve had. I cannot do gigs with this humming, it’s too loud. Help! I can’t seem to find anyone in my area who repairs Bose.
Hello Anne,
Thank you for your post, welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear you're having this problem with your L1 model II. This could potentially be caused by a ground loop if you have the L1 connected to a power outlet as other electronic devices.
Have you tried using the system with a different power outlet? I recommend testing the system going straight into a different wall socket.
Also, ensure that audio cables are not running close together with any power cables - try and keep them at least 8 inches apart from each other to reduce possible interference.
Hope this helps!
