F1 812 C position eq

I am thinking of buying an F1 system.

I have 2 x L1mkII's fro the past 11 years.

I need a system for up to 600-700 people for world music so the F1 system might be the solution.

 

After looking on the web I'm a little put off about the built in eq'ing of the 812 changing with the various array curves.

Several people have said the C position gives the best sound. I have only heard this on a Youtube clip, but its clear there is a brighter sound in the C position.

I would primarily want it set at the J or straight position.

 

Is there a way to bypass the built in eq?

 

What are your experiences with this?

The option to change the speaker array is primarily to alter the system's sound dispersion pattern to suit the venue, as opposed to changing the sound signature of the product. 

 

The automatic EQ on the 812 cannot be bypassed, but is designed for optimum tonal balance across all array configurations. For more information, please see page 4 on the owners guide.
