F1 model 812 no sound and flashing blue light on the back Power/Fault indicator

Hi, I work at a church that uses a pair of Bose F1 Model 812 for our main PA speakers.  Out of nowhere one of them stopped making sound and started having a flashing blue light on both the front of the speaker and on the back indicator for power/fault.  Everywhere I have looked I have not seen anything about a flashing blue light on the back.  It does not appear to be connected to the limiter as the limiter light is not on and continues to flash on the front even if I change the front light to only show power.  I have tried a reset and nothing changed.  The speaker is not recognizing any audio input and I even switched the cables from the other speaker to make sure it wasn't a cable problem and the other speaker had no problem.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Ahall5475,

Thank you for your post, welcome to the forum! Sorry to see you're having an issue with the F1 812.

If there's a pulsing blue light on the front of the F1 812, this would indicate that either the limiter is on or that amplifier protection is kicking in on the speaker. This suggests your audio source's input signal level going into the 812 is set too high.

What are you using as the source of audio?

Do input 1/2's signal LEDs show any sign of clipping?

Thank you for responding to me!

The pulsing light is not only happening on the front but on the pack as well.  What is odd is that it happens when there is no signal being sent to the speaker.  Also, When i do send dignal it doesn't even register on the input that any signal is coming in.

Hello Ahall5475,

If you haven't already, unhook the power from the speaker, let it remain unpowered for a few minutes.  (You've probably already tried this, but I had to ask.) Then reconnect the power (with nothing else connected) and see if the flashing resumes right away.  If it does, you probably need to send the speaker in for service.  It has a two-year warranty on the electronics, and a five-year warranty on the transducers.  If it's out of warranty, they will let you know what potential charges will be.
