- Hi there, is there a way to use a pair of F1 in a cardioid mode? Similarly to the new Sub2’s feature... I have never seen this question asked. I noticed that the sub has a polarity switch. Answers appreciated.
Hey DJ JD,
The F1 subwoofer does not feature a cardioid mode in the same way the newer Sub1 and Sub2 bass modules do. The polarity switch can be used if the F1 subwoofer is placed further away from the main loudspeaker for improved phase alignment.
Hope this helps!
OK, but is it possible to "manually" set up two F1 subs in Cardioid mode?
Hey DJ JD!
I'm not sure what is meant by "manually" but, again, the F1 subwoofer does not feature a cardioid mode in the same way the newer Sub1 and Sub2 bass modules do.
I mean by putting them side by side, one facing the dance floor and the other one facing backwards. And reverse phase the one facing backwards. Would that configuration work?
not sure how to hook everything up though… I guess mixer to sub to sub to tops?
Hi DJ,
I think this would work in theory, you can certainly try it!
And yes, mixer -> subs -> tops would be the ideal signal chain for this setup - that way, you can utilise the built-in HPFs on the F1 sub's line outs.
Hope this helps!
