Wondering if anyone has done airline travel with their BOSE L1 Compact? I think that it is too large for a carry on so I am thinking of how to protect it if I check it through baggage (I usually fly Southwest Airlines). Perhaps finding a box and using bubble wrap, etc.? Or, is there some kind of hard case that would fit it?
Apologies for posting this as a "new topic." However, I only found one similar post on the forum and it was from 2009 (and there was no reply).
Many thanks for your help.
Steve

Hello sinniste,
I found this post from 2012 here in the forum. It refers to an Arriba Cases AC-160. The link given by the original poster is stale, but a check of Arriba Cases website does not show it in their online catalog any more. I did find some online sellers who reported they still had stock; others indicated they were out of stock, discontinued, or special order/nonrefundable.
Reviewing the post, the original poster mentioned that the L1 Compact base fit comfortably, but the case was not padded well but he used a piece of exercise mat to provide extra protection. I'm not sure if that would suffice for checked baggage.
Good luck in your search.
Does that help?
Thanks for taking time to reply (and research). I will check this out. I'm also looking into the possibility of simply boxing the system (although I do not have the original box) with packing materials as I don't anticipate flying with it on a regular basis.
Thanks again for your help.
Steve
I took my entire Bose L1 system to Ireland twice and purchased the hard shell cases (flight cases) from Sweetwater. You can reach them at (260) 432-8176 and ask for Andy Plassman at extension 1267. Good luck
