I was in a local pawn shop looking for a used rack
case and while I was in there I came across a generator which looked like it was in pretty good
condition. It was a Coleman Powermate 1850. Has
anybody ever used this system before? Is it a good
buy?
If memory serves, the Powermates are typically “construction” site type generators and do not offer very clean power. NOT recommended for electronic use. go for the Honda or Yamaha inverter style generators. Regulated clean power, just right for electronics.
I have a Honda.
Scottie, thanks for replying. I surfed the internet for more info this generator and most
people can run electronic appiaces through them
no problem. Most of the reviews are good on it.
I plan to use a voltage regulator with it if I decide to go get it. The shop wanted $300 for it.But that I think is a little high for the type of used equipment it is. If I can talk them down to $250 I may go with it. But I’m still undecided.I like the Honda but, but it is too expensive considering how many times I might
use it.
