Getting started

The band is fed up with poor sound using standard 2 and half to 6 k rigs. What would our starting point be with a bose L1. We are loud, plenty of kick, guitar through an 800w randall system, large bass and the sound is as described in the video, a bit of a hotch potch. We are playing 70s classic rock, Rainbow, purple, zepp etc. Is this too much to ask of the bose or what do we need?

Hi Classique,

Thanks for your post, and welcome to the L1 Forum!

I think an L1 could be used to suit your purpose and replace a conventional PA system. If you like the guitar and bass loud and with their distinctive tones, you can continue to use the amplifiers for those. However vocals and additional instruments (keyboards, some drum mics) could be run through an L1 system.

A single L1 model I or L1 model II is designed for a medium to large room of about 300-500 people. If you are planning on playing bigger rooms than that, or if you just want the capability to go louder, you could consider adding a second system. Also, something to consider is the B1 bass modules. If you are planning on running kick drum through the system, I would definitely recommend at least 2 B1s for your setup.
