Spin off from Sight Lines and the T1™

Slightly OT: Is it an optical illusion, or are you guys hanging your guitars on your L1 columns?
Does Bose ok this, and where did you get the brackets? I'm assuming this would not be a good idea without a guitar on each side, but I'm sure your electric weighs more than your acoustic, and what happens when you pick one up? Do you always replace it with another? (I don't own three guitars, LOL)
Thanks!
Hi Troisnoir,
Guitar hangers for the Bose L1™ are made by

And there is an incredibly long discussion about ways to hang Guitars from the L1™ here:
Guitar Hangers
Thanks!
I can’t believe Guitar Center doesn’t sell these, being the only Bose L1 dealer. But then they don’t seem to stock the mic stand adaptors for the T1 either…
I’m still unsure about hanging a guitar off the column, exerting torque on the electrical connection at the base, but if Bose is ok with it, I guess it’s good to go!
Thanks again for the info…
I have been using the guitar hangers attached to the speaker on my classic for a couple of years. It also works just fine on my L2 and I have had no problem with either (he said as he knocked on wood).
Respect
I checked with my local GC, and the salesperson said they deal with or can get Wallacher products, and so he could order the hanger for me, though they don’t stock them. Just an FYI.

I've been using them for years ... no worries, no problems. Just be careful at outdoor gigs with wind.
I love 'em and regularly bring 3 guitars to a gig no matter how small the stage. But, I'm a guitar geek so more guitars than I need is to be expeceted from me.

Here is my answer to the Wallacher hanger. I like the way it hangs and mounts on the L1, but I also very much like the closing clasp of the Hercules stands. The weight of the guitar closes the mechanism, and I have had several thousand dollar guitars saved in the past because it wasn’t able to be pulled from the stand.
Here is how I did it.
I bought the Hercules Wall hanger.
And notched it to fit into the groove in the back of the L1,
Then I machined a piece of steel to fit into the back of the L1 with matching holes on it to hold the hanger.
I bought it narrow enough that I can loosen the wing nuts, and maneuver it to one side and then tilt it out of the groove to remove it for storage. The raised area of the wood keeps it from moving when secured.
I also had to machine the heads of the bolts down so they would fit in behind the steel plate.
Thanks for the tip on the Wallacher.
I would just have bought one of theirs, but I had this one laying around, and decided to do something with it.
It also made for a nice two hour project, (w/o drying time on the paint). I am a sales rep, so it is kind of fun to do something with my hands once in a while.
I just ordered a couple of the Hercules wall hangers to modify for my L1 but had been thinking of another approach.
Glad to see someone beat me to it and I may end up doing just the same way you did.
Thanks for all the pics!

I'm with you on that, Tres. A good stand is about 40 bucks, and the least of my worries when lugging stuff to and from a gig.
The L1 is about 2 large, and I ain't hanging a <darn> thing on it but my high hopes. Thank you very much...lol

dennismp,
I’ve actually bought one since these posts, and I love it - it works great! Of course, I have an acoustic, which is light. Don’t know about hanging a Les Paul off of it, but I don’t have one, so…
Anyway, I haven’t noticed any shaky situations, and personally, it’s nice to get the guitar up off the stage. I worry about audience members backing into it and knocking it over. But that depends on the type of gig you do, and the stage room you have. I usually play on top of an elevated postage stamp
(Edited for clarity)
Tres,
Ditto on the postage stamp, and I also use an acousitic.
I love my hanger because it get’s the guitar stand out of the way of me and my audience.
I play a coffee shop that the stage area is about 4ft wide and 6 ft deep, and make it work. Before the hanger, I had my guitar on a hercules stand off to the side, and would come back from my break to find kids fingering it etc… Getting it up and behind the L1, takes away that opportunity, and also keeps it out from under foot.
I’ve hung all kinds of guitars on mine with no problems whatsoever. I need to get the Hercules type of locking stand from Wallacher though, because I have had issues where the guitar got sideways in the stand & almost fell out. I like the head on the Ultimate Support hanging stand better.
Hi there, I’m totally new to this forum and sorry to butt in randomly but i own the L1 Bose and was about to purchase a triple guitar stand when i came across this link http://howzithangin.com/bose detail.htm
Is this still where you order the guitar hangers from?
Hope someone out in cyberspace knows,
Thanks

Hi Peza,
The more recent contact information I have for guitar hangers is here:
Wallacher Guitar Hangers
My experience with Wallacher
I ordered the WPAS1 guitar hanger a couple of months ago. I received the wrong item, and I know that sometimes that can happened, but they never answered my emails and nobody even answer the phone when I tried to call them.
So, I wouldn’t recommend doing any business with those guys.
This is the guitar stand I'm now using and I would love to see someone offer this particular head in a ready to use L1 friendly hanger.quote:Originally posted by Tom Munch:

In my particular situation, I would like to have it adjustable so that I could hang my guitar directly in front of the speaker for when playing as a soloist with no space to have a guitar on the side of the column, but also have the ability to hang one off each side for when I have more stage space and am playing electric too, allowing for one guitar to be hanging as backup.
