Home Speaker 500 Google Assistant scheduled Routines don't work

I have a Bose Home 500 speaker configured and associated with my Google assistant setup. Any Google Assistant Routine that I set up which gets triggered based on time, always fails and I get a notification saying, "Your selected device Bedroom is offline."

Triggering the routine by saying the phrase from the phone and speaker, works fine. It fails at the scheduled time and sends notification.

Google Support asked me to reach out to Bose Support, their recommendation was Google's own speakers would work fine.

Hi Godgers,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the community.

The reason you will be seeing this behavior when using Google Assistant on your Home Speaker 500 is that not all features of Google Assistant are available through the Bose speakers at this time. While routines are supported with Google Assistant, as you have found, scheduled routines are not supported at this time.

What I will do for you, is pass this along as a feature request to our development team, so they know that this is something you would be interested in being added going forward!

Let me know if there are any other features you would like to see as well, and I'll pass them along for consideration too.

Keith,

Thanks for filing this request, on my behalf. How optimistic should I be that this can get fulfilled in a timely manner.

Would looking for alternatives at this point be a good strategy?

Hello, do you know how soon it might be possible for Bose to support google routines that are on a timer/scheduled? This would be great.

It is a big deal that Bose does not offer this function. Routines is core to Google Assistant. Without scheduled routines, there is no morning music alarm through Google Assistant. Why else would I buy the fancy Bose unit. Good thing I saved the box. Submitting a return through Amazon right now.

Hi,

any news about Google routines?

The Home Speaker line has no sleep timer and no music alarm clock, so routines are the only solution. Can you suggest other ways?
