Hi ST and all,
I used my L1 Compact for the first time last night at a pub in Castleton, Derbyshire, UK.
My set up is;
Tonematch (Housed on the microphone stand.)
BT's from iPad (also housed on the mic stand) running in Stage Traxx
Neumann KMS 104
Line 6 Pod Hd 500.
It was a cinch to set up and I was thrilled with the sound from the outset. There was no compromise on it's sound at all after always using my L1 Model II at the same venue last year(not forgetting it's a small to medium sized pub.)
I felt a little insecure on the way there as my stuff is not acoustic but full Bt's with strings and the lot. My instrumentals and lead breaks, even with distorted guitar were cutting through a dream. I used to use a Sure SM 58 Beta but my KMS 104 cut through great.
The compact was situated to my right only 3 feet away neither in front or behind and positioned close to the wall on it's right in a corner, I had no issues with feedback.

I have seen guys on here say how they love their compact and I now see why. The overall sound is very much like the L1 model II as you have said in the past ST.

Obviously at the end of the day my most important ingredient is my vocals, I do all genre's of music from ballads to rock'n roll. If I was to pick out my best buy since going Bose it would go to the Neumann KMS 104 embracing that all important close mic technique which took a while to master.

The Compact is a wonderful piece of kit and having regard to my age (61 plus V.A.T.) if someone told me I had to go back to carrying 15inch speakers and heavy amplifiers, I'd pack it in.

Regards Tony Parnham
